Education

Save the Children Mexico carries out non-traditional educational programs with children in the following areas: health, hygiene, nutrition, exploitation, child labor, arts and culture and violence prevention.  The topics are covered in ways relevant to each age group and specific to the regions and physical spaces where the programs take place.

With whom and where do we work?

  • With children from 2-6 years of age, through early child development programs in Child Development Centers (CDCs).
  • With children from 7-12 years of age in community centers, schools and youth centers.
  • With adolescents from 13-16 years of age in workshops in schools.

Programs are carried out in spaces where children learn to be, to coexist, to do and to learn in an environment of respect, liberty and solidarity (human development).

Our Educational programs consist in systematically exercising the following themes:

Learn to Be            The right to an individual and cultural identity.

Learn to Coexist
The right to equality and inclusion as values that promote tolerance for those different than us and diversity; having a sense of responsibility to the group and the community; having respect for and caring for the environment and the diversity of Mexican cultures.

Learn to Do
The right to form one’s own opinion, participation, free association, freedom of expression, thought, conscience and religion.

Learn to Learn
The right to an education which ensures the acquisition of the abilities, skills and knowledge which stimulate human development and are relevant to the particular realities in which the learner lives.
